All regular Pre School classes, for 18 months - 5 year olds, last for 45 minutes. When your child is able to sit for 45 minutes & undertake about 4 different activities within the space of this time your child should enjoy a Tot Art class.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who stays with the child for the duration of the lesson. You sit with your child at a large table with others in the same class & enjoy sharing your child’s artistic experience with them. You will not be expected to do anything apart from offer praise & encouragement to your child & maybe pass your child something which is out of their reach on the table.
At the end of the lesson your child washes their hands whilst I arrange all the work which they have done during the lesson for all the children to look at. If you have paid for consecutive lessons you may leave your work to dry & collect it the following week, or take it with you at the end of the lesson. You then leave with your happy child & their work of which they are very proud, & I clear up all the mess left behind!
Classes are limited to a maximum of 7 children & each class covers a range of activities & uses a variety of media & materials. The classes are structured in such a way that your child builds on what they learn at the start of the lesson throughout the lesson & whilst lessons can be attended on a one off basis, those who attend regularly will have the benefit of each class referring back to things which have been taught previously, build upon a structured understanding of visual elements & processes, & become increasingly better with hand eye co ordination & fine motor skills.
I am a professional Artist & a fully qualified teacher of Art with 18 years teaching experience. I am passionate about Art & the importance of children learning art. I have twice won The National Artworks Award for teaching Art, awarded at a ceremony at The Tate Modern. The first time which I won the National Artworks Award was the first year that the award scheme was run & there were over 35,000 entries.
Classes run termly to coincide with school half term dates, each Tot Art term lasting from 5 to 7 weeks. Classes can be paid for on a pay as you go basis at £12 per child per class, or for a whole term of classes at a discount of 10%. A discount of 20% is given for a sibling in the same class, whether paying for a one off class or a whole term.

It is the creative process your child learns that enables your child to arrive at impressive outcomes, & the structured accumulation of skills which enables your child to improve. It is this process along with award winning teaching methods that makes Tot Art special, & how Tot Art sessions & workshops truly equip your child with skills for life; plus give Mum & Dad something to proudly put on the fridge or frame!
Give your child the gift of having the confidence to draw with ease & think creatively.
