These are a selection of entries for this year’s competition at The National Gallery. In 2006 a Tot Art pupil won a prize - see press releases page.
This year the pre-school age group category title was ‘’Birds”. We had to consider what kind of birds we see each day, what do birds eat? where do they sleep? What is the smallest & biggest bird you can think of? We then looked at a painting by Joseph Crawhall ‘The White Drake’ 1895.
The children were all able to talk about ducks which they had seen, how they walked, what ducks sound like & the environment in which they live.
These ducks are all very characterful & can be seen waddling around amongst grass & water.
