Your child will explore visual elements, artistic processes, creative concepts, and become more visually aware of the world around them.
Pictured above from left to right:
1.Printing blocks made by children aged 18 months - 5 years old for individual & group work. Prior to making the printing blocks we had experimented with various media to explore the idea of pattern. The children were so excited to see the pattern left behind from their printing blocks as they peeled away the paper!
2.This drawing of a tree, by Fleur aged 3, was made towards the end of a lesson exploring the idea of looking at the spaces as well the branches. The children loved the concept of “what isn’t there?”
3.This collage work was the culmination children aged 18 months - 5 years old exploring dark & light & looking at the work of the Painter Morandi. Have a look in your child’s paint collection, there is usually very little black but children love black! The big bold marks which it makes. Black shouts out “this is what I can do!”
4.This is experimental work which we did before looking at Artists’ work about speed & movement. Ruben who came to Tot Art classes for 3 years & who won a prize in The National Gallery of Scotland competition, made this drawing at the age of 3. They are his fast lines. All the children in this class loved using charcoal - & the mess it made!
It is the creative process your child learns that enables your child to arrive at impressive outcomes, & the structured accumulation of skills which enables your child to improve. It is this process along with award winning teaching methods that makes Tot Art special, & how Tot Art sessions & workshops truly equip your child with skills for life.
